Scarlett had spring pictures taken at school of her Kindergarten graduation. I'm too cheap to buy them, so I snapped a photo...
Our good friend AJ got his mission call! He opened it up at 1am the night the kids got back from their Choralier trip to Orlando, Florida. Australia, Sydney North--Korean speaking! We were so excited for him.
Most my hair fell out after Wendy came to stay in my abdomen, so this picture shows a nifty braid that Landrie did on my hair before that happened. I see some grey, even in the back!
The girls spring dance concert...Romney's last! It was great. I can't believe she's done dancing for the Elko Indians.
Romney and Raegan did a great little number together trying to show that they have been dance buddies for three years, and now Raegan is letting go and watching Romney walk away (to college). Sniff, sniff. (I really did cry, by the way).
We love watching the dance concerts!
Landrie is part of the GT Program at school (Gifted/Talented in case ya didn't know) and this was a presentation she did in Spring Creek with Peeps. Zach in the green is her faithful follower. His mom asked if we could take him out there that night--I'm pretty sure it was the happiest of his 10 years of life so far.Dance! The closing Dance Banquet was great. Sierra's mom made all the food, luau style, and it was delish.
Romney and Raegan won awards and we had a great time.
This is a nice group of dance girls!
Romney and Raegan were both inducted into the National Honors Society! Just in time for Romney's graduation...Easter Time! We drove to Utah and had a fun egg hunt in Sandy at a park with the cousins.
Abby brought some great stuffed (with confetti) eggs that the kids enjoyed smashing on eachother.
All except Harman...he is apprehensive about violence, even with an egg.
It's always our favorite thing to see the cousins when we go to Utah! We just hope everyone will drop everything and come to where we are staying to visit with us. Scarlett and Hartman were invited to a birthday party (twins--a boy and a girl) and I thought they looked so cute all ready for their party fun! Hartman was a little torn about parting with the Spidey kite.
Landrie had some artwork displayed at the Northeastern Nevada Museum! This is her bff Erin. Her dad is the beer distributor in town, so we figure they go well together...everyone likes chips with their beer, right?
Hartman went with Brent on his 2nd annual Fathers and Sons Campout! He was so excited to wave goodbye with the back of the van converted into a little apartment for himself and Brent. Peeing in the wild is one of his favorite memories of that weekend.
Alivia was in the choir at Flagview for 6th grade. This is her good friend Tara. They sang Katy Perry's Roar and a couple of other modern songs that they all loved to sing and jive to.
We went to Utah for Memorial Day because Brent was able to have the day off of work and our trusty green van (that we've had since Landrie was a baby) stopped going into reverse. It started to become a problem every time we pulled into a parking stall, forgetting we couldn't get out of it. We decided to make a new purchase--a new VAN. I didn't even take a picture of it, but we named it Mike because of the nice guy who sold it to us. It's still not "new", but it's great! Leather interior, sunroof, power doors, heated seats, and the biggest selling feature was the huge DVD screen installed in the roof--much larger than the typical factory screen. And when Mike showed us the small screen that pops out of the dash board, we were SOLD. We're all about the driver staying awake on those long drives to and from Elko. And we still made it to the cemetery to see Grandma T's grave.
We like to stop at Ikea while in town as well, and because I needed some bigger things we decided to go for the "spend money in the restaurant and get that amount deducted from your total bill" promotion and bought OVER 100 bucks worth of Ikea food to eat. Abby and her kids came to help us pig out. Meatballs for everyone!
Senior Solo night is a tradition. Romney performed with her now famous "7th Hour Prep" group and they did great. She also performed with Raegan and several others, along with Tyler. These two are great. (Wait, isn't that the vest that matches Romney's prom dress from last year?)
Will Gardner, another really nice guy in Romney's class. And great on the guitar.
Landrie scored the roll of Lady Capulet in her GT performance of "Romeo and Juliet". She did great! Even in the swordfights.
There is a kid in her class who drives everyone (including the teacher) crazy. He came out to the mic whenever there was even a slight pause in action and said, "Sorry, folks--we are experiencing technical difficulties". I saw the teacher go up after the 2nd or 3rd time to tell him to PIPE IT backstage, and he probably came out 3 more times. The audience was chuckling pretty heartily by the end.
Lots if kids=lots of events. We love watching all of them develop their talents in all their different interests.
Sophie is a rock star at forensics (debate). One of the big spring competitions was hosted by EHS and I somehow ended up selling concessions for 2 days at the school. Hartman had fun, and Elko did really well!
By the end of the school year we're not so sad about the end of the business so we can party and sleep in for the summer. San Dimas High School Football RULES!
